Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä (/bɜ̄ː/ /feɪ̯̄æ/ [formal] [cult]) is a subtropical Town located in the Bāwkyoīä Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä is derived from the Goblin language, as Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä was founded by Bryn Danie Branwen, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 13°C (55°F). Overview

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä was founded durring the late 17th century in late summer of the year 1653, by Bryn Danie Branwen. The establishment of Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's construction back out of the project. Bryn Danie Branwen pushed on reguardles, and Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä is buildings are speckled and packed arround spacious flagstone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's brittle defences has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same divine, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its divine. Asside form the revrent worship, you can see the citizens are preparing for something, and that something isn’t good. Weapons are worn openly. Defensive structures have been recently constructed to guard less used areas of the town. Merchants seem very eager to sell their wares at discount prices. Something is coming.

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's parks.

Cultural Notes

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its striking sculptural forms and often dazzling ornamental detail that characterizes the buildings general shape. The radiant colors, rich patterns, and symmetrical silhouettes employed by this style were backed up by rich decorative features including gardens, courtyards, extruded arches, domes, pointed domes, vaulted ceilings, elaborate painted and inlaid designs, and decorative sculptures.

The Buckawn near Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves sacrificing an animal to channel Invocation energies of tier 1 via oath swearing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä lost 107 people, 295 livestock, and 89 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 101, when members of Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific warchest to a particular mine unharmed. The operation was complicated by at least some of the intelligence related to the operation was incorrect. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a crushing defeat for Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Voǔlēm Fāē Kēä's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
